What is the difference between Alzheimer’s disease and dementia?
Dementia is a group of symptoms including profound short-term memory loss, intellectual impairment and change in personality. Alzheimer’s disease is a deterioration of brain cells. It is the most common cause of dementia.

What is required to admit someone into Oakland Place, Inc.?
We will come out and meet with you. Then you would need to get a plan of care from a physician. At that point, we then do a mini status that shows what level of care is needed.

Is assistance available for daily living activities?
While independence is promoted, staff is available to assist with dressing, grooming, toileting and bathing.

Does your facility admit individuals with difficult behaviors?
Yes, our staff is trained to manage many difficult behaviors.

Does your facility admit individuals with incontinence issues?
Yes.
